Physical Attributes – Markeith is an overly long levered, very lean, rangy kid who has yet to mature physically.  He has a verified 11.56 100, 23.42 200 and a 20’ 2.5 long jump  in track as a Sophomore.    He plays faster than his 100 time for sure and his 200 time is obviously better as he is a long strider by nature.  He is very fluid for his size and shows great burst and acceleration along with good balance and body control.  He also shows excellent twitch and athleticism for his length with good feet and hips to go along with it.  Time will tell the story with Markeith as we see what exactly his frame will max out at.  If he does get to the 200-205 range he will be a scary site at Safety for years to come with his god given abilities.

Position Specific Skills –  Elite player on the deep half with his range, instinctiveness, field awareness and play speed.  Uses his long levers to make plays on balls that a smaller safety would have trouble with.  He is explosive in his initial burst and acceleration which you see when he runs the alley.  Good hips for his size allows him to change direction well with the ability to play both man and zone concepts from the safety position.  He shows he is a willing tackler and does show some toughness but will need to step up that part of his game to be a true safety at the big time level.

Overall –  Like most guys but more with Markeith, his body will tell the story of him as to what kind of player he will be in 4 or 5 years.  If he grows into his body the sky's the limit.  If he stays on the leaner side and struggles to put  on weight, and get thicker and stronger,  he will struggle in the box and be limited to playing a  deep safety or a man situation.  He will also struggle covering bigger, thicker TE’s due to his leanness.  Right now  he is very athletic and is very instinctive on the football field and is a big time play maker.  His overall limits will be directly tied to his body.  I still see him as an excellent power 5 player, the body will determine his potential thereafter.
