Physical Attributes –  When find out a young man has a verified frame at 6’5 220lbs, and has a verified 4.62 40, 4.12 short shuttle, and a 33.62 vertical it makes any evaluator say whoa.   Cyrus has a tall, long and lean body, right now!  He shows excellent twitch and get off.  He can change direction really well for a long levered kid.  He runs really well, straight-line but also can change direction at an elite level, which is scary.  His quick feet and ability to drop his weight is really impressive.  He has some strength at the point of attack and can develop with the weight room and a nutrition plan.  He is an explosive athlete, showing over a 30” vert.  Cyrus, potentially, can be a high, high draft pick based off his physical attributes alone.  When he is a full grown man, it is going to be scary.

Position Specific Skills – When you take a look at Cyrus you see a OLB/Jack linebacker right now.  He shows great initial quickness and get off.  His strength at the point of attack is really good.  He uses his length well and locks out his arms and can set the edge.  As he develops his upper body strength and puts on weight he will be a force in this position specific skill.  Cyrus has really good balance and body control with good ankle flexion.  There is a tad bit of lower body tightness but I have to nit-pick at something!  He shows elite range and speed for his size.  He can chase the rabbit as good as anyone in the country for his size.  A 4.62, 40 yard dash at 6.5?  That is elite. His speed rush is elite. Right now I would call him a finesse pass rusher.  His length, burst and quicks make him an elite pass rusher.  His power rush will come as he grows into his body.  A 4.12 shuttle to go along with his ability to run with great burst?  That is freak-ish!  Being able to change direction like that, at that size is amazing.  Wow. He gives maximum effort, chases the ball on this exposure every play.  He looks like a very instinctive player as well with good field awareness.

Overall –  If Cyrus continues to develop physically and keeps his speed, athleticism, burst, acceleration and ability to change direction he will develop into a top player at the power 5 level.  I am talking elite.  He reminds me of a Jamie Collins type player right now.  The tools he has for his size and length are elite.  If his body keeps him at the OLB position, he may end up at the top player in America after his college days are done.  I am looking forward to seeing him at the next level, for sure.  In terms of potential, he has as high a ceiling as I’ve seen.  I possibly see him a 6’5/6’6, 265lb, OLB/DE, when he maxes out physically, with the ability to play DE and also OLB.  That combination doesn’t come along too often.  You  must keep in mind that I am evaluating him off his “SOPHOMORE” film.  As I am writing this I am shaking my head, in a good way!
