Physical Attributes – Julian has prototypical ht and length for a CB. A long levered, long strider who has great feet, balance and body control. Shows decent initial burst and acceleration. Can flip hips and run. Shows very good catch up speed and play speed. Has long speed but not positive how exactly fast he is. Gets into a second gear at times on this exposure and exhibits the speed it takes to be a top cover corner. Is a very fluid athlete.
Position Specific Skills – Julian is a pure cover CB. He has really good feet, balance and body control. He shows he has fluid hips. Can flip and run and come in and out of cuts. Solid short area quickness with the ability to mirror WR’s. Uses long levers to bat down passes. He shows excellent technique for a young player. He has solid hands and is an overall really good athlete. He is a willing tackler, cut tackler at times. Not as physical as you would like to see but plays with really good effort and makes a ton of plays.
Overall – Julian is a very good, finesse, cover CB type who is a playmaker. A fluid athlete who can run faster than most of the competition he plays against. He can mirror in man concepts and shows great field awareness to jump routes and make plays. Cover CB’s with length are hard to come by and is exactly why I have Julian ranked so high. As he continues to grow into his body I see Julian getting better and better as time moves forward. Would like to see more physical play out of him and to see him run through the ball carrier instead of cut tackling.
