Physical Attributes – Chad has a shorter, thicker frame than most prostyle QB’s. He has great feet in the pocket. His overall athletic ability is average. He can run ok but not a very dynamic player with the ball in his hands. I see him body wise, similar to Quinton Flowers.
Position Specific Skills – Chad shows excellent feet and set up in the pocket with enough athleticism to scramble and throw on the run. More importantly, Chad shows he has excellent mechanics and is very accurate with the ball. He can make all the throws. He has good pocket awareness and has a good feel for the pass rush. He is a good decision maker that can get the ball out quick with good velocity and good accuracy on faster releases. His athletic ability is average. He is a competitive player who is very instinctive.
Overall – Chad is a prostyle QB that has all the tools throwing the ball. From set up to mechanics to arm strength and accuracy. His height and length is not prototypical but can and will be a productive player at the D1 level. I like his ability to get the ball out in a decisive manner. Physically Chad is put together well with a thick body and good twitch to roam around the pocket. He must watch his weight and try to slim down to the 210-215 range as the year get behind him.
