2022 – Saf – Taylor Groves – East Robertson, TN - 6’2 / 175
247 Rank: National - 233 / Saf - 13 / TN – 6
Commitment – University of Michigan
Name/Location/Date/Time of film for evaluation – 2022 Athlete - Hudl - 5/28/2020 - 4m 06sec
Physical Attributes – Taylor is a tall, long levered, lean athlete. He is a twitchy athlete with good burst and acceleration who can run, straight line, well with long strides but does not possess elite long speed. He is an upright runner who is not a make you miss after the catch guy. Struggles with change of direction.
Position Specific Skills – Taylor can play the ball in the deep part of the field and can play zone concepts well. Would like to see more on film with man coverage vs better competition. He shows tight hips which affect his ability to come in and out of cuts and change of direction. He has good burst and acceleration and catch up speed. A very instinctive football player with field awareness that is productive. He shows he has good hands and is a tough/high effort player
Overall – Taylor is a man amongst boy vs below average competition. When he grows into his body he will be a big safety that is athletic and long. He struggles with change of direction which makes me question his ability to cover smaller, quick, faster slot types in man concepts. He will excel as a deep safety with good range and size to buzz in the box. When he fully matures he will be a productive player at the FBS level.
